Surf Awareness (SA) -
A practical 3-4hour program held at a local beach which provides participants with a fun and active learning experience. Participants will build skills, confidence and knowledge both in the surf and on the sand.

This program is suitable for Primary School Students and Secondary Students.

Learning Outcome:
On completion of the course participants should be able to:

• Understand and acknowledge beach dangers
• Identify the Surf Safety Tips
• Understand and utilise self survival techniques
• Perform some self survival techniques
• Demonstrate skills to assist others in an emergency situation
• Recognise beach signs and the beach environment
• Understand the role of Lifesavers & Lifeguards

Activities:
Activities are tailored specifically to the group’s outcomes and include:

• Begin with a Safety Brief - Beach Walk or Surf Awareness Discussion
• Rotation Activities –
• Aquatic-based learning
• Board Paddling
• Surf Swimming
• Novelty Games
• Land-based games
• Beach Flags
• Beach Volleyball
• Novelty Games (including Survivor Challenge)

Costs:
$15 per person for 3 hour module
$20 per person for 3 x 1 hours modules

Duration:
3hrs or 3 x 1 hour modules

Participation Numbers:
Minimum of 24 students

A convenient beach to your school from Freshwater to Palm Beach
