- The purpose of the Surf Life Saving School is to provide services for persons interested in learning beach safety and enjoying the beach experience.
- The Participant acknowledges that the School is a non-profit organisation and all fees payable are used to cover costs and provide up-to-date programs and equipment.
- The Participant acknowledges and agrees that upon undertaking any activity with the Surf Life Saving School, he/she shall sign an Acknowledgement of Risk (constituting a warning under Section 5M of the Civil Liability Act 2000 (NSW)), wherein the Participant releases the School from any liability whatsoever with respect to injuries, loss or damage sustained by The Participant in the course of undertaking any activity; dangerous, hazardous or not.
- The Participant unconditionally agrees to fully indemnify the School, and all of its directors and employees, against any injury or accident that may be sustained whilst participating in activities organised by the School.
- The Participant warrants that he/she does not suffer from any medical conditions and/or incapacity which may affect his/her ability to participate in School activities, and furthermore, that the Participant does not suffer from any heart condition, epilepsy or other medical conditions which may result in the Participant potentially placing himself/herself in a position of risk by undertaking the activities.
- The Surf Life Saving School reserves the right to cancel any activity at anytime in the event of adverse weather or surf conditions, equipment failure or other reasonable and unforeseen situations. An alternate date will be arranged at a time best suited to the Participant.
- The Surf Life Saving School reserves the right to cancel any surf based activity at anytime in the event of adverse surf conditions or presence of bluebottles in the water. Alternative beach based activities or an alternate date will be arranged at a time best suited to the Participant.
- The Surf Life Saving School will not be responsible for any loss, injury or damage incurred or suffered by the Participant during the activities or in the event the activity is cancelled or postponed.
- The Surf Life Saving School shall use its best endeavours to ensure the safety of the Participant whilst he/she is participating in the School's activities. The Participant agrees to accept ALL responsibility for injuries sustained whilst participating in the School's activities.
- Participants agree that no legal action will be commenced by it against the School, its directors, employees and personnel, in relation to any accident, injury or loss sustained during the undertaking of School activities.
- Payment must be made in full a minimum of 7 days prior to activity unless otherwise agreed. Bookings confirmed on receipt of deposit of 20%.
- Cancellations or changes to the bookings require a minimum of 14 days notice, or you may forfeit any deposit payment made. Changing or cancelling the booking date at anytime within 7 days of the event may incur a 50% fee. If you fail to show up on time or on the booked day we will not offer any refund or credit.
- For water-based activities our staff ratios are 1 staff member to 10 Participant. This will only differ in programs such as Special Needs, Nippers Holiday Program, Adult Surf Confidence, and Primary and Secondary School activities. (For more information on staff safety ratios contact management to determine acceptable staff numbers).
- Children must be over 6 years of age to participate in activities conducted in surf conditions up to 1 metre in height. Children over 12 years of age can participate in surf conditions over 1 metre in height. Under no circumstances will water-based activities take place in surf conditions over 1.8 metres in height.
